The O'Dea Council No.8424 Would like to introduce our senior member Carl Becker.
Carl first joined the Knights of Columbus on September 1, 1946 in the City of San Rafael. He worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad for more than forty years between the Bay area and Sacramento.
Through his friendship with Monsignor Nolan he became closer to the works of the Order and a Christian Life. Carl is our senior member of Father O'Dea council 8424 and has just received the Honor of Fourth Degree Knight at an Exemplification at his home on June 25, 2007.
This important event is, by his account, is one of the highlights of his life and also his entire family. Carl is now the senior member of Assembly 50, Bishop Manogue.
His recollection of the years gone by is an inspiration to all that have the privilege of conversing with him at length. If we all have Carl's spirit at age 98 maybe someone will also be telling our story. The games played as children of a man born on April Fools Day in 1909 have long been put to rest and a great person has come from these works.
